A circle can’t be squared and still a circle be;
the points are fixed, they cannot bend or sway.
A man cannot be forced and still considered free.
The change begins, the end we can’t foresee;
some ideas do not mold as easily as clay.
A circle can’t be squared and still a circle be.
But the heavenly three indwelling three,
whose separate wills each one’s equal weighs,
somehow converge and are still considered free.
Then what of man and his forked destiny,
does his will alone decide the final day?
A circle can’t be squared and still a circle be.
Even if God should pay his deadly fee,
who stands behind this fateful yea or nea?
If man volunteers, is he still considered free?
The Son begs of his Father, “Please, let this cup pass from me.”
“You know as well as I do, Son; there is no other way.”
A circle can’t be squared and still a circle be.
Though the Man is forced, he considers himself free.
